OSHA Training

W.L. Smith & Associates Environmental Consulting will provide the best in Environmental Education Services. We are qualified instructors of the integrated sciences with degrees ranging from a B.S. in Civil Engineering to a M.A. in Pre-medicine Biology. There is a combined experience of 30 years of instruction from Leon and Hillsborough County Schools to international university education. Our instructors will have no problem providing a quality and efficient education environment. We are building our environmental education services. We are currently offering the following training courses: The 40 hour HAZWOPER Training Course and the 8 hour HAZWOPER Refresher Course. Registration & Confirmation Process

Registration must be done no later than five (5) days prior to the scheduled training session. If you send your registration out exactly five (5) days fro the time of the session, please call to get your confirmation number. Once your registration and payment have been cleared, you will be issued a confirmation card by mail. Allow one (1) week from the time of registration to receive your card. You must bring your confirmation card with you in order to be admitted and receive your OSHA card (go to our registration link).

Issuing Your OSHA Card

Once you have successfully completed the OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER Training Course, you will be issued an official OSHA Card that will indicate the level of training you have received. A certificate will be issued to those who have undergone the OSHA 8 hr. HAZWOPER Refresher Course. All participants must bring their confirmation cards because they contain your OSHA number. All participants must hand their confirmation cards to the administrative assistant in order to be admitted to the training course. You will then take two (2) pictures upon arrival. When you have completed the 40 hr. HAZWOPER you will be handed your official temporary card and sealed certificate of completion.

Training Facilities

Our main training facilities are located at the Dr. Walter L. Smith Library in West Tampa. For convenience, we are equipped with computer and research rooms. Participants are able to utilize the facility’s e-mail systems and our faxes to communicate with their offices or clients without having to return to their offices. If there is a need to change the session venue in another of our associate facilities you will be contacted immediately.

On-Site Training

Arrangements can be made to accommodate training sessions at your facility. We have curricula that can be tailored to fit your schedule and your location if necessary. All necessary arrangements must be made with us so that we may prepare for travel to your location or facility. We will bring all the necessary audio/visual equipment, models, etc. Arrangements can be made up to one (1) day in advance for a light lunch to be catered and delivered.

Language Barriers

Language barriers do not exist for us. In this increasingly diverse global economic market, W.L. Smith & Associates recognizes the need for effective communication with our clients. Currently, we provide OSHA training courses in Spanish or American Sign Language (ASL) for hearing impaired participants who request it. We will provide translation services in other languages for those participants who are not fluent English speakers. All translation services must be requested one (1) week prior to the scheduled training period. There is an additional cost for translation services (see fee schedule).

Local Cuisine

In-town trainees can order lunch from any of the conveniently located restaurants. We are conveniently located in historic West Tampa and north of the South Howard District (SOHO). Tampa’s best restaurants are located less than five (5) minutes away.

We Will Travel

While our OSHA Instructional services are based mainly in the Tampa Bay Area, arrangements can be made for a W.L. Smith & Associates Instructor to travel to another city or state to provide OSHA training. The proper arrangements would have to be made through our administrative assistants.
